More Vatican tweaking, now on architecture

"New Vatican commission cracks down on church architecture" (Vatican Insider, November 21, 2011).

As one writer put it: "Long time coming, but sorely needed."

Mick Jagger Gathers No Mosque said...

In his Opening Speech at the Second Vatican Council Pope Blessed John XXIII forswore Ecclesiastical Discipline and that policy remains in force to this very day and so I do not see how this new Committee will be of use in correcting one problem.

I know that must read as a cynical comment but the great Dom Prosper Gueranger in, "The Liturgical Year," commented that without Ecclesiastical Discipline all is chaos.

I hope I am wrong (Prolly am; I specialise in error) but I can see any number of "exemptions" being extended for various inculturation reasons rendering this new new committee toothless.

That such a Committee is needed is but a Confession that Hell has not only busted loose, in many places it is running the show.
